Eligibility Criteria for Indian Navy Artificer Apprentice (AA)
Age Limit: Candidates age should lie between 17-20 years on the day of the enrollment. This simply means that the Date of Birth should be between February 01, 1999 to January 31, 2002.
Education Qualification: Candidates who have to apply for the post should have qualified 10+2 exam with at least 60% marks in Science board or he has studied any of the subjects which include Chemistry/ Biology/ Computer Science in 10+2.

Physical Standards for Indian Navy Artificer Apprentice
– Firstly, Candidates should have the visual standard as set by the Indian Navy.
Permanent Body Tattoos: Tattoos are the main issue when you are applying for the exclusive services in the country. Tattoos are allowed in the inner body parts such as inner face or forearms i.e. from inside of elbow to the wrist and on the backside of palm or hand. Other than this, permanent tattoos are not allowed in any of the body parts.
Minimum Height, Weight & Chest Expansion: The candidate’s height should be minimum 157 cms and with balanced weight. The minimum chest expansion of 5 cms in compulsory.
Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
Candidates who will qualify PFT will be eligible for the next round. In PFT, candidates have to perform the following tasks:
1. Complete a run of 1.6 Kms in 7 minutes
2. 20 Squat ups and 10 Push-ups
Additional Preferences: Proficiency in sports, swimming, and extra-curricular activities are desirable.
Medical Examination, Training, and Initial Engagement
As soon as the Indian Navy announces the final merit list, the selected candidates have to appear for the Medical Examination at INS Chilka. All the candidates who qualify exam will be enrolled. The rest of the candidates who unable to qualify the medical exam can appeal against its findings if they want, at INHS Kalyani, Vishakhapatnam for a maximum period of 21 days.
Candidates who have qualified Medical Examination will get Confirmation Letter for Initial Training. The training of the candidates will start in 2019, which will be basically 09 weeks of Basic Training at INS Chilka. After this, Professional training will be provided to the candidates.
On the completion of successful training, the candidate will get Initial Engagement of Service. During the period, if any candidate’s performance is not as expected, then he will be discharged as “Unsuitable” due to inadequate performance at any time during the winning.
Pay Scale and Prerequisite for Indian Navy Artificer Apprentice (AA) Post
All the selected candidates will get a stipend of Rs 14,600/- per month during the period of training. After successful completion of the training, the candidates will be placed in Level 3 of the Defence.
Pay Scale: Rs 21,700 to Rs 69,1000
Apart from basic pay, the Officers will also get MSP of Rs 5,200/- plus ‘X’ Group pay Rs 6,200 and additional dearness allowance.
In the period of service, those who will serve remarkably will get the promotion to existing up to the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer-I, i.e. Level 8 of the Defence Pay Matrix (₹ 47,600- ₹ 1,51,100) plus MSP @ ₹ 5200/- plus ‘X’ Group Pay @ Rs 6200/- per month plus Dearness Allowance (as applicable).
Prerequisite or Essential Requirement
As a prerequisite, the Sailor will be receiving books, reading material, uniforms, food, and accommodation, etc. free of cost. Also, the sailor will be provided with the following benefits:

This is one of the most essential advantages the Officers will get. Insurance Cover (On contribution) of Rs 41 lakhs for submarines and Rs 37.50 lakhs for other sailors is applicable.
